There are a LOT of options to choose from when selecting a platform to host your podcast and not all are created equally. There are a LOT of options to choose from for Podcast equipment. I recommend that you start with good quality equipment, and consider your budget first. You can always upgrade your equipment as you become a professional podcaster.
The essentials are a microphone, audio interface (if using an XLR mic), a pop filter/screen, and a good set of headphones (I also recommend mounting the mic).
